Tips & Tools for getting attractive nails


Nails are undeniably an integral part of our body but are not taken due care of. Human nails are delicate and fragile and go under a lot of wear and tear. Most of us ignore the fact that alike other parts of the body nails too need proper attention and dedicated care. Maintaining nails the perfect way not only improve the looks, but also display apt hygiene.

For women, nails play a pivotal role in enhancing the charm of her hands and the overall look. Well-groomed and perfectly polished nails go a long way in boosting the women's charm. Though the nail care practice needs proper sitting session at a saloon in which the cost is duly involved. This reason becomes the major hitch why most of us ignore taking care of our nails.

Today, we will discuss some of the most efficient and cost effective manicure steps that will not only save your precious time, that you spend waiting for your turn at the parlor, but will also save your hard earned money on regular manicures!

Here are few steps how to perform the Perfect Manicure at Home…

Before starting the session make sure you have gathered all the required tools. This includes:

         Nail-polish remover (For women)
         Cotton swabs or pads.
         Nail clippers
         Emery board and nail buffer.
         Cuticle pusher and nippers.
         Cuticle remover.
         Hand moisturizer
         Nail moisturizer.
         Base coat. (For women)
         Nail polish. (For women)
         Clear topcoat. (For women)

Firstly, remove previously Applied Nail Polish:

Try to remove your nail polish with some non-acetone based nail polish remover. If not possible, try making less contact with the skin. Don’t soak your nails in the spirit.
Shaping Nails:

Clip the nails, if necessary and try to cut in one way. Don’t make zig-zag cuts on the nails.

Filing The Nails:

Once done with the shaping,  it’s time to gently file them into a desired shape. Keeping pace with the trend, a slightly rounded nail shape and the square-rounded edge are the in-thing. No, this is not for the dominant men! Being in the perfect shape is women’s forte!
Soaking your Hands:

This is one of the most relaxing parts of the whole process. Place your hands in lukewarm water bowl. Add a little cleanser to remove dirt. Do not soak your hands for more than three minutes as over-soaking can damage the skin.
Applying Cuticle Remover:

It’s advised to apply a bit of cuticle remover while cutting away the thickened skin around the nails. Don’t let it stay for a longer period though!
Removing Excess Cuticle Around The Nails:

Use a cuticle pushing tool to push the cuticle backwards. Make sure you push the cuticles gently and DO NOT pull, lift, tear, rip, force, or cut into the cuticle in any way.


Massage your hands and nails with a rich cream to moisturize them. You can also use silky oil all over the hands to hydrate and replenish the skin.
Removing Excess Moisture From the Nails:

Use a cotton swab to remove the moisture left on the nails. Moisture can be a hindrance in proper application of the nail enamel.
Always Paint Nails in Layers:

After applying a proper base coat apply the nail enamel in different layers finally finishing with a gloss. This will protect the nails from staining and will also give the a lustrous and even shade.
